45% of men in the UK say that they have experienced a mental health condition
A new survey by D-CYFOR reveals that 45% of men in the UK say they have experienced a mental health condition such as depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, eating disorders and addictive compulsive behaviours. This is highest among those aged 18-34 (60%).
The survey goes on to reveal the main things that men say they would do if they were experiencing depression or a similar mental health condition:
65% say they would speak to their doctor;
35% say they would “exercise”;
34% say they would speak to a family member or close friend;
25% say they would use the internet to find out more information;
16% say they would call a medical helpline.
